Triotherm+ Pre-Wall Window Installation System

Triotherm+ is a thermally efficient pre-wall installation system for positioning windows and doors outside the structural wall and within the building's insulation layer. The system provides a secure, load-bearing mounting solution while helping to minimise thermal bridging at window and door openings.

By allowing the window or door to be positioned closer to the insulation plane, Triotherm+ can improve the continuity of the thermal envelope around the opening. This makes it particularly suited to energy-efficient new-build projects and construction details where thermal performance, airtightness and reliable window installation are important.

Reduce Thermal Bridging Around Windows and Doors

Window and door openings can create significant junctions within the building envelope. Even a high-performance window can be affected by heat loss around its perimeter if the installation position and connection to the surrounding construction are poorly detailed.

Triotherm+ creates a projecting installation frame around the structural opening, allowing the window or door to be installed within the insulation zone rather than being restricted to the structural wall position. This helps create greater continuity between the frame, insulation and surrounding building envelope.

Load-Bearing Pre-Wall Installation

The Triotherm+ profiles combine low weight with structural performance, creating a stable mounting frame for windows and doors. Profiles are installed using the specified Hybrid Polymer Power Fix adhesive/sealant together with FK-T30 Frame Fixing Screws to form a defined installation plane ahead of the structural opening.

The system provides installers with a controlled mounting surface while reducing the need for conventional thermally conductive supporting details around the opening.

Airtight Window and Door Installation

Correct window positioning is only one part of a high-performance installation. The connection between the window or door frame and the surrounding building envelope should also be appropriately sealed to control air leakage and protect the installation joint.

Triotherm+ can be combined with suitable internal airtight sealing tapes, external weather-resistant tapes and expanding joint sealing products to create a complete perimeter installation detail.

Triotherm+ System Fixings and Adhesive

Please note: Triotherm+ Hybrid Polymer Power Fix adhesive/sealant and FK-T30 Frame Fixing Screws are required for installation and are sold separately from the Triotherm+ profiles.

Hybrid Polymer Power Fix is applied between the Triotherm+ profile and the load-bearing substrate. The adhesive/sealant forms part of the system connection and also assists with locating and positioning the profiles during installation.

The FK-T30 Frame Fixing Screws provide the specified force-transmitting mechanical fixing between the Triotherm+ profile and the load-bearing substrate. Both Power Fix and the specified FK-T30 fixings form part of the Triotherm+ installation system.

Important: The correct FK-T30 screw length depends on both the Triotherm+ profile depth and the load-bearing substrate. Concrete, sand-lime brick, vertically perforated brick, aerated concrete, timber and lightweight concrete require different minimum screw-in depths. Screw length should therefore not be selected from the Triotherm+ profile size alone.

To maintain an installation corresponding with the tested Triotherm+ system configuration, the specified system components and installation requirements should be followed. Substituting alternative fixings may mean the installation no longer corresponds with the tested system configuration.
