Green Glue

Green Glue - The Ultimate Noise Proofing Compound - Dissipates up to 90% of Noise!

Green Glue Noiseproofing / Soundproofing Compound

You will need 2 tubes for every 8ft x 4ft sheet of plasterboard / drywall. Tubes are sold individually or sold in packs of 12 tubes with quantity discounts. Easy installation will require applicators - these are sold separately.

This unique noiseproofing compound has a unique polymeric formula that converts the mechanical energy from sound waves into small amounts of heat. When the compound is sandwiched between two rigid layers of material (like drywall), it forms a damping system. So, when sound waves pass through the structure, the energy is dissipated in the form of heat.

    Revolutionary Noise Isolation

Green Glue Noiseproofing Compound is a unique damping product that is ideal for new construction and renovation projects. It is the most popular and cost-effective soundproofing material on the market. The compound’s unique properties act as a damping material to dissipate the vibrations caused by sound waves as they travel through ceilings, walls and floors. The compound is non-hazardous, environmentally-responsible, and has no odor.

Do you want to reduce sound transmission through a wall, floor, or ceiling?

Tests conducted by independent laboratories show that a single layer of the compound between two layers of plasterboard or other similar building material dissipates up to 90 percent of noise.

    Low Frequency

Unlike most products, Green Glue is effective even on low frequency noise. Millions of tubes have been sold around the world with excellent results. This contributes to a reduction of 57Db with a support for plasterboard to simple structure.

Environmentally friendly product, non toxic - not for you, or the environment.

Outstanding cushioning to the critical frequency, more than any other technology. lamortissement provided by green glue is 100 times higher than a 13 mm plasterboard.

The Official Green Glue Solution to Squeaky Floors!

One of the biggest noise complaints is the sound of footsteps and squeaky floors.

here is nothing more annoying than TRYING to walk quietly on a floor that squeaks and creeks with every footfall.

he squeaking that’s driving you crazy occurs naturally when floors settle, floorboards and joists rub together with pressure from above. Traditional solutions like reticulated foams or soft foams are not long lasting though, but there is an easy solution: Green Glue Noiseproofing Joist Tape.

This foam tape dampens foot traffic noise and helps to create an airtight seal, this makes sqeaking a thing of the past.

Rolling Green Glue Noiseproofing Joist Tape takes practically no time at all & can easily be incorporated into flooring jobs. Green Glue Noiseproofing Joist Tape installs easily by hand. Simply roll or lay tape onto floor joists, adhesive side down, and install sub floor on top.

As well as practically eliminating queaking, it also acts as a form of insulation to improve energy efficiency.

    • Quick Installation
    • Easily to Incorporate into Floor Jobs
    • Eliminates Squeaky Floors
    • Reduces Impact Noise
    • Improves Energy Efficiency

    • Make sure all surfaces are free from dirt, grease, and water before applying the foam tape.
    • Apply the Noiseproofing Joist Tape adhesive side down evenly to the top of each floor joist.
    • Once placement of the Noiseproofing Tape is complete, apply the sub-floor as normal to joists.

Please note: the use of construction adhesive is NOT recommended when securing the subfloor and will compromise the effectiveness of the Green Glue Tape.

A lot of people wonder how a simple layer of Green Glue is so effective at dissipating noise. To understand the science behind the compound you need to understand a little about the energy of sound waves and how they travel.

Noise travels through the air like a wave or an airborne vibration. When these waves hit a ceiling or wall, the vibrations will pass through the structure and exit through the other side as sound again. That is, unless the structure is damped.

Green Glue Noiseproofing Compound has a unique polymeric formula that converts the mechanical energy from sound waves into small amounts of heat. When the compound is sandwiched between two rigid layers of material (like drywall), it forms a damping system. So, when sound waves pass through the structure, the energy is dissipated in the form of heat.

The result is dramatic - just one layer of Green Glue Noiseproofing Compound in between two sheets of drywall can eliminate up to 90 percent of noise, even at low frequencies. The diagram above illustrates how this damping system works to convert sound energy into heat and provide efficient noise-proofing.
